As part of the Sunday cinema programme at B-Lage in Neukölln we invite you to the third Berlin DiEM25 Documentary Night on February 19th, 2017 to watch with us ‘On the Bride’s Side’. A journey across Europe, for a better Europe.
A Palestinian poet and an Italian journalist meet five Palestinians and Syrians in Milan who entered Europe via the Italian island of Lampedusa after fleeing the war in Syria. They decide to help them complete their journey to Sweden – and hopefully avoid getting themselves arrested as traffickers – by faking a wedding. With a Palestinian friend dressed up as the bride and a dozen or so Italian and Syrian friends as wedding guests, they cross halfway over Europe on a four-day journey of three thousand kilometres.
The film is not a documentary, but get’s you thinking and that is why afterwards we would like to discuss the topic migration with you. On which we are just working on a policy paper. We will also ask for a small donation (~2€) to finance the costs we have.
The movie will be shown in different languages and with english subtitles.
We look forward to seeing you there!
