In order to receive the newsletter, a valid email address has to be provided. The sole purpose of providing an email address is to receive electronic messages at the request of the user.

Donors and Donations

It is possible to make a donation to DiEM25 through the Website for which purpose data of donors may be collected. The type of data subject to collection depends on the amount of the particular donation, i.e. above or below 3 000 EUR annually.

For donations of less than 3000 EUR per year, DiEM25 collects the email address and the birthdate of donors (in order to ensure that donors are at least 18 years old).

Donations for more than 3000 EUR per year are subject to explicit approval by DiEM25’s Coordinating Collective. They will request additional information on the donor and may request making the donation public.

The information about donations is handled with respect and confidentiality to the extent provided by the law.

For Members Only Area

The following information and conditions apply to members of DiEM25.

The Members Only Area is available at and is run by DIEM25.

For the access to the Members Only Area, it is required to provide your full name, valid email address and choice of language.

This data is explicitly stored by DIEM25 for the purpose of operating the Members Only Area and to create and operate your Member profile.

Beyond the above-mentioned required information, all other personal data is provided by members on a voluntary basis. It is stored and used by DiEM25 exclusively to provide additional services, such as location-specific notifications and volunteer/job offers.

Voting procedures

In the Members Only Area, there is also an option to vote on different proposals and elected positions within the Movement.

In order to exercise the right to vote, members are requested and agree to provide their mobile number. The purpose of mobile verification is to verify the members’ identity and ensure that each individual can only vote once in each voting process.

No information on the nature of the actual vote is stored. In the voting process, information is stored on whether the member has voted and on what date. In particular no identifiable information on the actual (how) vote is stored.

  1. Storage of personal data

The data that is collected in relation to the use of DiEM25 Website is stored within the territory of European Economic Area (EEA).

We will keep your data as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes stated below in p. 5 of this Privacy Policy or as required by the law.

In connection to the use of the Website we process and use your personal data for the following purposes among others:

  • To contact visitors and members of the Website;

  • To send information and messages by email, including Newsletters, to the users;

  • To handle donations made to DiEM25 and contact donors;

  • To organize and hold events, including online events;

  • To organize and hold voting procedures;

  • To verify that only one vote is provided per one individual (without information on the way of voting);

As a rule and under our general policy, we do not to disclose your personal identifiable information to third parties with the exceptions presented here.

We may only transfer collected personal data in connection with the newsletter registration to third parties insofar as this is technically necessary for the sending of the newsletter. In cases of disclosure of your personal data, the volume of transmitted data is limited to the minimum extent.

It must be noted that we may be required by law a to disclose personal information to law enforcement authorities in relation to legal actions.
