We are all Palestinians. Join us at Stopera on November 30

Join over 130 organisations at Stopera in Amsterdam tomorrow (Saturday, November 30) at 14:00 CET. We will peacefully protest against Israel’s genocide of Palestinians, the Dutch government’s complicity, and the erosion of the right to protest. The starting location and route has been changed in accordance with today’s court ruling

Court ruling

The Amsterdam court ruled today that the municipality can move our demonstration from Dam Square. This relocation, imposed without justification, is a restriction on our right to protest. Dam Square, a recent site of police violence and a symbol of resistance, was deliberately chosen. We are thus seeing a worrying trend continue. That trend was precisely one of the reasons why we recently asked you to take to the streets tomorrow.

Criminalising the movement

The Palestinian solidarity movement faces growing criminalisation. Peaceful protesters are intimidated, assaulted, and misrepresented by the government and media.

Mayors increasingly restrict protests with little resistance. In relocating our gathering, Mayor Halsema cited vague suspicions and past “incidents” without evidence of disorder – undermining the right to protest.

Genocide in Gaza

The Dutch government continues to ignore international condemnation of Gaza’s genocide and sabotages efforts to end it. Even the July 2024 International Court of Justice ruling, confirming Israel’s violations of international law, has not changed its stance. While it claims to respect the arrest warrant for Netanyahu, it undermined the ICC by allowing Geert Wilders, the de facto Prime Minister, to visit him.

Both national and local politicians in the Netherlands continue to protect Israel. Under the influence of Israeli ministries, they continue to repeat and reinforce Israel’s propaganda story. This is unforgivable.

Peaceful protest

That is why it is important that people take to the streets tomorrow, to stand up for the Palestinians and to defend the right to protest against genocide in the Netherlands. We call on you to join us at 2:00 PM at Stopera square for a peaceful protest. If you are part of an organization or group of friends, ask others to join you. There will be a podium program with speakers, and then we will together march through the center of Amsterdam.

This is the moment to make yourself heard. Show your support and join us. We are all Palestinians!
