DiEM25 is excited to announce that our co-founder, Yanis Varoufakis, will be a featured speaker at the upcoming ‘We Demand Change’ summit in London on Saturday, March 29, 2025. This pivotal event aims to unite activists, trade unionists, and campaigners to foster the movements necessary for transformative change.
The summit boasts an impressive lineup of speakers, including former Labour leader and DiEM25 ally Jeremy Corbyn, economist Grace Blakeley, National Education Union General Secretary Daniel Kebede, and author Owen Jones. Together, they will engage in panels, workshops, and discussions addressing critical issues such as austerity, economic inequality, climate change, and social justice.
Yanis Varoufakis spoke about the urgency of these discussions in a recent post on X:
“Tomorrow morning, in London. WE DEMAND CHANGE. End Austerity & Military Pseudo-Keynesianism (austerity’s latest attire). End welfare for bankers and fat cats, in favour of boosting well-being amongst the many. End the climate disaster. End genocide.”
