Migration policy that puts people first: Solutions for inclusive societies

We’re proud to unveil our latest policy paper, offering a bold vision for Europe – where migration policy strengthens communities, protects jobs, and respects human dignity.

1.  What’s in it?

  • A plan to protect workers and stabilise communities without putting locals and newcomers against each other.
  • Solutions that tackle the root causes of forced migration—wars, economic exploitation, and climate chaos.
  • Policies that reject fear-mongering and prioritise fairness for all.

Migration shouldn’t be about “us vs. them.” It’s about building strong, united communities that thrive together.

2.  Key Proposals

2.1.  Fairness for host communities:

  • Allocate resources to areas hosting migrants to strengthen public services like housing, education, and healthcare.
  • Promote local job creation through community-led cooperatives, benefiting both locals and newcomers.
  • Engage communities in participatory decision-making to facilitate community-wide participation in decisions that impact their lives

2.2.  Dignity for migrants:

  • End dehumanising practices like detention and border militarisation.
  • Replace migrant camps with dignified reception centres integrated into local communities.
  • Ensure migrants have access to fair wages, housing, healthcare, and education.

2.3.  Tackling root causes:

  • Hold European governments accountable for policies that drive displacement, including exploitative trade agreements, climate injustice, waging wars or supporting dictators.
  • Transition from militarised borders to humanitarian support, focusing on saving lives and offering safe, legal pathways for migration.

2.4.  Economic and climate justice:

  • Transform current trade practices into balanced partnerships that prioritise social, environmental, and economic justice
  • Commit to green transitions that do not exploit resources or displace vulnerable communities.

2.5.  A balanced approach:

  • Recognise and address concerns about job security and community strain by prioritising policies that create stability and opportunity for all.

2.6. We need your help
