Rotterdam for Peace: Screening ‘Eyes of Gaza’ in a time of genocide and rearmament

Under the banner ‘Rotterdam for Peace’, DiEM25’s Rotterdam Collective is organising a screening of the film ‘Eyes of Gaza’ by director Mahmoud Atassi on 11 April 2025.

This impressive documentary follows three Palestinian journalists who continue to do their work under life-threatening conditions in Gaza. Why? Because they feel this story needs to be told.

“That is immediately the main reason why we want to show this film now,” says Coordinator of the Rotterdam Collective, Mink Lammertink. “In addition, the film shows how militarisation and oppression leads to destruction and terror. In these times of ReArm Europe and genocide, we must continue to tell this story. And continue to speak out for peace and disarmament,” he added.

Following the film, there will be a panel discussion on film with participants; Mahmoud Atassi, the director of the film, Wendela de Vries, co-founder of Stop Arms Trade, and Abdullah Sari of DiEM25.

When and where is the event?

  • When: Friday, 11 April 2025
  • Where: the Nieuwe Gaffel, Gaffelstraat 63a, 3014RC Rotterdam
  • What time: the hall opens at 18:30 CET, and the film starts at 19:00 CET

Admission is free. Peace in Gaza, unfortunately, is not. The stories there are still paid for with blood every day.
