We call for the EU to impose immediate sanctions on the Israeli government for Gaza hospital bombing

Israel is no longer trying to hide its crimes, while the European Union and most European states are actively involved in covering up for them.

In this tweet, Hananya Naftali, an adviser to Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, announced the bombing of the hospital in Gaza by the Israeli Air Force, justifying the bombing because, he claimed, there were Hamas men hiding inside. But as soon as they saw how many civilians were killed, he deleted this tweet and the Israeli government went on a disinformation campaign trying to blame the attack on Hamas.

Meanwhile, Israel’s minister of justice maintains that the Israeli government is deliberately killing 2.5 million people by hunger, starvation and deprivation of medicine until Hamas releases its own hostages—a clear violation of the Geneva Conventions.

Any European institution or party supporting these war crimes is complicit in them, and is exposed to prosecution by the International Criminal Court. This particularly applies to the European Council, which systematically vilifies Europe and its people by refusing to condemn Israel’s war crimes.

DiEM25 calls for the European Union to immediately impose sanctions against the government of Israel—with the support of all blocs within the European Parliament, including the Party of the European Left and the European Socialists and Democrats—and hold them accountable before the people of Europe for complicity in crimes against humanity.
