Israel is playing with fire in the Middle East

The state of Israel is trying to set the Middle East on fire by involving Iran and Lebanon in a wider war, that also has implications for Greece and Cyprus.

The assassination of the political leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyah, in Tehran, and the execution of the military leader of Hezbollah, Fouad Shoukr, on Lebanese territory, have only one objective: the escalation of war in the Middle East.

The strike on Iranian territory in particular, during the inauguration of the new president of Iran, is a direct threat to Iran. We recall that this is not the first time that Tel Aviv has tested Tehran: in April, the Netanyahu regime assassinated Iranian diplomats in Damascus, with Tehran’s response being cool at the time, with no human casualties.

So can the state of Israel raise fronts with Hezbollah on its northern border and, above all, with Iran at the same time? The answer is no. These moves by the genocidal Israeli state are trying to create a fait accompli for the US before the November presidential elections.

The irony is that, in the Western media, Iran is portrayed as a global terrorist and an agent of instability in the region, but in reality world peace at the moment rests on the composure it will show in the face of the challenges of the real terrorist and predominant agent of instability, which is Israel, which also possesses nuclear weapons, as it implicitly but clearly admits.

As far as Greece is concerned, the escalation of the war in the Middle East directly involves first of all Cyprus, with the Western bases on the island, and Greece with its own US bases. The government of New Democracy, the official opposition of Syriza and the other NATO parties, PASOK and New Left (ministers of the Tsipras government, the entire leadership team of this scheme, when the former, as Prime Minister, tied our country to the Netanyahu bandwagon and handed out bases to the Americans), are making a fuss about the issue, essentially supporting the murderous Israeli state, which is dragging our region into a wider war.

We ask them a question publicly, asking for a corresponding answer: will you risk the integrity of Cyprus and involve Greece in this havoc that the pariah state of Israel is pushing things towards?
