MERA25, the political wing of DiEM25 in Germany, is striving to make its voice heard in the upcoming German federal elections. But before we can bring our vision of a democratic, just, and sustainable Europe to the Bundestag, we need your help to meet an important requirement: collecting signatures to secure our spot on the ballot.

Unlike larger, established parties, MERA25 is required by German electoral law to gather at least 27,000 signatures nationwide from registered voters to be eligible to run in the 2025 elections. This process is essential for new and smaller parties but serves as a major hurdle that can prevent innovative and alternative political voices from participating in the democratic process.

Why your signature matters

Your signature doesn’t commit you to vote for MERA25, but it does enable us to compete in the elections. By signing, you ensure that voters have the opportunity to choose a party that prioritizes transparency, social justice, environmental sustainability, and a Europe that works for the many, not the few.

This is more than just an administrative step – it’s a chance to challenge the status quo. Germany’s political landscape needs alternatives that address pressing issues like climate change, economic inequality, and the erosion of democracy. MERA25 is ready to lead that charge, but we can’t do it without your support.

How you can help

If you’re a German citizen and eligible to vote, here’s how you can contribute:

• Download the form. Print it double-sided and complete all fields except for the section at the bottom “Bescheinigung des Wahlrechtes” [Certificate of eligibility to vote], which will be filled out by the authorities. Be sure to write legibly in block or uppercase letters so your form is valid.
• Gather additional signatures. Print extra forms and ask family, friends, or acquaintances who are eligible voters in Germany to sign. Every signature counts!
• Send the completed forms by 10 December to: (please choose a city above). Our volunteers will handle the rest.

If you have friends or family who support democratic change, encourage them to sign too. Every signature brings us closer to giving Germans a progressive choice on election day.
